Koti Resorts Mashobra, Himachal Pradesh

18 km from Shimla.
Himachal Pradesh

Mashobra is a tiny hamlet, nestled among the pine trees, off the hustle and bustle of Shimla. This is a place of towering Pine trees and deep valleys. You can actually walk through the thickly wooded pine forests that you see at a distance when you approach Shimla.

Koti Resort where we stayed is perched on the edge of a  high mountain with an 180 degree panoramic view. The Daisy covered hill sides offer a good place for trekking up the mountain or to descent deep into the valley. If you are quiet enough while on your trek and perhaps if you are lucky, you may spot a bushy tailed fox, scrounging for food. We spotted one, even though it was only for a fleeting moment.

I chatted up with one of the local inhabitants of the place. He was only too happy to find somebody to talk to outside his State. He was a teacher in the local school. There was pride in his voice, when he talked about his 'hill station'. Proud of the fact that people from all over  India come visiting Shimla. However he was reproachful of people's blatant attitude to desecrate the place with empty bottles and plastic wrappers. " How can could they do it ?" he asks.

I don't want to indulge in preachment, but this humble teacher's message is loud and clear!
